FOIA Request to Town of Arbor Vitae Regarding Same Day Registered Voters on November 7, 2024.
At NC Wisconsin News, we have recently submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024. This request was made as part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
As a media organization, our role is not only to gather and report news but also to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency for the public. Access to public records is essential in fulfilling these professional responsibilities. In this regard, we have requested the records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and dissemination.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We eagerly await the response from the Town of Arbor Vitae regarding this request.
