A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Bradley, Wisconsin, regarding a list of voters who registered on the same day as the 2024 election. The request was made by NC Wisconsin News on November 7, 2024.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News requested these records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., preferably in electronic format.
Our interest lies in obtaining a list of new registrations for voters that registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that given our role in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We have reached out to the Town of Bradley with this request and are awaiting their response.
