FOIA Request to Town of Crescent Regarding Same Day Registered Voters for Wisconsin 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Crescent. The request, dated November 7, 2024, seeks a list of new voter registrations that were made on November 5, 2024.
Our role as media professionals involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In line with this responsibility, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals in order to access these records. We believe that this information will contribute significantly towards our mission of keeping the public informed about their local government’s activities.
We await a response from the Town of Crescent and will continue our efforts in promoting transparency and accountability in local governance.
