A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Enterprise regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024. The request, filed by NC Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq.

The specific request was for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As a media organization committed to transparency and public accountability, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities.

We also noted our role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Given this role in disseminating information, we requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We remain committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public through accurate reporting. We await the response from the Town of Enterprise and will continue our efforts in bringing light to important civic matters.
