FOIA Request to Town of Fifield Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Fifield. The request was sent under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and seeks to obtain a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to transparency and public accountability, access to such public records is crucial for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We await the response from the Town of Fifield and will keep our readers updated with any developments. Our aim is always to ensure that citizens are well-informed about local government actions and processes, contributing towards an engaged and active community.
