FOIA Request to Town of Wolf River Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Wolf River. The request, dated November 7, 2024, seeks information about new voter registrations that occurred on Election Day.

In accordance with the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., we requested a list of all individuals who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This data is essential for us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

We believe that access to public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities as journalists. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization dedicated to disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

We look forward to the Town of Wolf River’s prompt response to our request and will continue our work in bringing light to important civic matters.
