There was one gas station in cities across Vilas County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $3.01 per gallon in the week ending Jan. 3, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, premium gas averaged $3.54 per gallon.
Of the 22 reported gas stations located within Vilas County, five offered premium gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of premium gas in Wisconsin was $3.52, down from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
