Cost of college went down for all students at Nicolet Area Technical College

In-state tuition and fees fell 9.7 percent for 2018-19 at Nicolet Area Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin residents paid $4,404 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $473 less than the $4,877 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 50 percent more than residents this year, or $6,606. Their price tag was reduced 9.7 percent from $7,316 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Wisconsin residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 79 students received grants or scholarships totaling $412,502 and 35 students took out student loans totaling more than $107,732.

Including all undergraduates (1,283), 608 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.6 million, and 308 students took out $1.2 million in federal student loans.
