FOIA Request to Oneida County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at NC Wisconsin News have submitted a request for public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq.
The request was sent to Oneida County on October 7, 2024, seeking access to the county's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs from January 1, 2024, through October 7, 2024. The specific fields requested include the requester's name and organization, content of the request, date of the request and its completion date, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We are confident that this information will contribute significantly towards fostering an environment of openness and accountability within our local government. We await a positive response from Oneida County officials regarding this request.
