FOIA Request to Town of Corning Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Corning. The request was made for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that given our role in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
