FOIA Request to Town of Harding Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NC Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records pertaining to new voter registrations in the Town of Harding.
Specifically, we are seeking a list of voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in our role as media professionals in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals given our role in disseminating information.
