Price County's student body comprised mostly of white students in 2024-25 school year

White students were the most represented ethnic group within Price County schools in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 1,464 students attending Price County schools, 87.5% were white. Ethnicities <5% students were the second largest ethnicity, making up 12.5% of Price County students.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Price County, representing 88.1% of the student body.

Countywide, Chequamegon High School had the most even distribution of races, which included 87.8% white students, 3.6% Pacific Islander students, 3.1% Hispanic students, 2% American Indian students, 2% multiracial students, 1% Black students, and 0.5% Asian students.

In the 2024-25 school year, the total number of students enrolled in public schools in the county dropped 1.1% compared to the previous year.

Wisconsin ranks 22nd in the U.S. for public education spending, with an annual expenditure of over $16,500 per pupil, totaling $13.8 billion.
