In 2024-25 school year, white students had highest representation in Taylor County districts

The majority of students in Taylor County districts were white in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 4,103 students attending Taylor County district schools, 88.2% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnic group within Taylor County's districts, making up 6.7% of the student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Taylor County districts, representing 88.9% of the student body.

Medford Area Public School District had the most diverse student body in the county, which included American Indian, Asian, African American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, multiracial, and white.

In the 2024-25 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county increased 2.5% compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Taylor County.

Wisconsin ranked 29th in the U.S. for student-to-teacher ratio at 14:1, according to a study by AAA State of Play.
