Medford Area Public School District welcomed 3,220 students in 2024-25 school year

There were 3,220 students enrolled in Medford Area Public School District in the 2024-25 school year, 2% more than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 50.1% identified themselves as boys, 49.9% as girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 87.4% of the Medford Area Public School District total enrollment.

Medford Area Public School District covers five schools within Taylor County, with its main office in Medford.

Among the five schools in the district, Rural Virtual Academy recorded the highest enrollment of 1,197 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin ranks 22nd in the U.S. for public education spending, with an annual expenditure of over $16,500 per pupil, totaling $13.8 billion per year.
