There were 88 students enrolled in Phelps School District in the 2024-25 school year, 4.3% less than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 55.7% identified themselves as girls, 44.3% as boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 93.2% of the Phelps School District total enrollment.

Phelps School District covers two schools within Vilas County, with its main office in Phelps.

Among the two schools in the district, Phelps Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 61 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin had a student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1 in 2025, lower than the national average of 16-to-1, according to Public School Review.
